Smart cities in focus. The InnovatEase team supports initiatives related to building the vision of Bulgarian municipalities for the creation of smart cities and cities of the future. A conference dedicated to innovations and technologies that transform the urban environment.
The InnovatEase team received an invitation to participate from the organizers of X City 2024: Future Cities Forum Bulgaria, where they moderated one of the thematic panels of the forum: “SOLUTIONS, TECHNOLOGIES, AND INNOVATIONS – technology companies present concrete developments and projects.”
The moderator of this part of the program and representative of the InnovatEase team was Mr. Dimo Dimov-Lemuil, joined in discussion by speakers from leading companies in Bulgaria: Shelly Group, represented by Mr. Mircho Mirev – Head of Integrations Technology, Top Rent A Car and Top Mobility, represented by Mr. Radoslav Marinov – Marketing Director, NRJ Soft, represented by Mr. Todor Gechev – CEO, Bulgarian ITS Association BITSA (Intelligent Transport Systems), represented by Mrs. Elena Elenkova – Chairwoman, and Cybersecurity for Everyone Foundation, represented by Mr. Yanko Spasov – Chairman and expert in digital transformation and cybersecurity.
We would also like to thank Prof. Desislava Petrova-Antonova, Head of “Cities of the Future” at the Big Data for Smart Society Institute (GATE), for our meeting during the forum. In the course of our discussion, we identified common areas of future interest and potential collaboration in the field of LoRaWAN networks. This technology can serve as a real tool in applying digital transformation strategies for municipalities, fostering innovation, improving quality of life, and making cities sustainable and intelligent. The issue of access to LoRaWAN resources and support for development activities may become an important element of urban strategies aiming for sustainable growth.
Over the course of two days, the event focused on the latest trends and best practices in the field of smart cities, presented by Bulgarian mayors, business leaders, and leading European experts in sustainable development. The event took place at DoubleTree by Hilton Plovdiv Center, hosted by the Municipality of Plovdiv, and was attended by key representatives from over 50 municipalities across the country, international delegates, and technology companies.
